Travel ban imposed on Nasheed's brother over leaked video

A travel ban has been imposed on Nazim Abdul Sattar, renowned lawyer and brother of Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed.

Police said they seized Nazim's passport under a court order on Friday. Nazim's passport was seized amid an investigation into homosexuality allegations.

A video leaked on social media on Friday showed a person believed to be Nazim engaging in sexual acts with a foreign man. Nazim took to Twitter to deny the allegations against him and said he was not the person seen in the video. He later deactivated his Twitter profile.

After the video was leaked on social media, Nazim was summoned to the police and questioned regarding the video. However, the police have not yet released any information regarding the case. The police confirmed that a blackmail case involving a large number of people was also reported to the service, and the investigation was ongoing.
