MNDF works on receding floodwaters on Male' streets

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF)'s Fire and Rescue Service (FRS) is working on receding floodwaters in Male' City.

The city has been experiencing heavy rainfall since Sunday afternoon, which led to flooding on Male' streets. Strong winds and more rain are expected until Tuesday afternoon, as per a white alert issued across the Maldives.

MNDF said they installed pumps near the running track on Boduthakurufaanu Magu and the IGMH area to recede floodwaters around 5:30 pm on Monday.

A Met Office official said the weather would continue to be unfavorable for the next four or five days. The weather is expected to start clearing over the weekend.
