Over 900,000 tourists have visited the Maldives thus far this year.
According to the Tourism Ministry, 900,808 tourists have visited the Maldives this year, compared to 572,123 tourists that arrived during the same period last year. Therefore, the current number of arrivals is almost 50 percent more than last year's arrival numbers.
As of the July 20, the highest number of tourists arrived from India. While 132,151 tourists arrived from India alone, 104,667 tourists visited from the United Kingdom. Russia follows behind with the third-most number of arrivals.
