The Maldives has won the Best Island in Asia award.
The World Best Awards are organized by Travel+ Leisure magazine.
The award was received by the Maldivian Ambassador to the United States, Thilmeeza Hussain, at a ceremony in New York last Wednesday. The Maldives also came second in the Best Island in Asia award, while Thailand came third.
