Decline in telecommunication prices despite soaring price of goods

Telecommunications prices have shown a decline despite soaring prices of goods.

According to inflation figures released by the National Statistics Bureau, only the mobile and communications category saw price declines last month. Prices fell by 12.92 percent in the sector.

The most significant increase in prices was seen in the land transportation category. The increase in taxi fares due to increasing oil prices resulted in a 10.68 percent rise in prices.

Oil and lubricants are among the items that have seen the most significant price increase. Prices rose by 14.76 percent for the category.

Total inflation stood at 0.45 percent in June. However, the increase was lower than the 0.65 percent in May.
