Maldives National Party (MNP) has appointed Shidhatha Shareef as its Spokesperson. Shidhatha was appointed to the post after her predecessor, Asra Ahmed, resigned from the post to travel abroad for further studies.
In a ceremony held Friday to announce Shidhatha as the party's new spokesperson, MNP's President Mohamed Nazim said the party was born as a national ideology and that the party has achieved a lot in a short period of time. He noted that Shidhatha would play a major in the party's major tasks ahead as its Spokesperson.
At Friday’s event, Shidhatha said she was calling to uphold the law and spoke up for the rights of the people in a volatile political environment based on her experience in the political arena.
Shidhatha was formerly the Gender Minister and worked hard to elect the current government. She was a member of the Adhaalath Party before she joined MNP.
