Kuwait's national airline, Kuwait Airways, has announced its decision to launch flights to the Maldives.
Kuwait Airways is scheduled to start flights to the Maldives in October.
The flights to the Maldives' main international airport, Velana International Airport (VIA), will be operated twice a week. Several other Middle Eastern airlines also currently operate to the Maldives.
While the number of tourists visiting the Maldives from the Middle East is increasing, the launch of Kuwait Airways flights to the Maldives is expected to further boost the number of tourists from the Middle East. Kuwait is one of the countries in the Middle East from where tourists most visit the Maldives.
