A boat en route to N. atoll from Male' City has run aground.
The cargo vessel, 'Landhoo Boat', ran aground K. Gaafaru reef on Wednesday morning.
According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), they received reports of the incident around 10:55 am. While the Coast Guard is traveling to the accident site, the people of Gaafaru island and vessels nearby are assisting the grounded vessel.
MNDF said many people were aboard the vessel when it ran aground. They said those in the boat have now been taken to Gaafaru, and all are doing generally well.
