Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has warned that bad weather will be experienced across the Maldives today.
The Met Office has issued a white alert to indicate the need for precautionary measures when traveling due to rough seas and heavy rain. The alert will be in effect from 8:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The Met Office said heavy rains with thundershowers are expected in various parts of the country during the alert period. Winds will be between 19 to 24 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph during thunderstorms. The seas will also be rough.
The weather authorities have advised seafarers to take precautions and not to travel without checking weather conditions.
