Leaked videos: Three more arrests made on Thursday

Three more people have been arrested and remanded in custody for allegedly having homosexual relations with a Bangladeshi citizen.

Bangladeshi national, MD Alamgir, filmed himself having homosexual relations with several local men, including politicians, prominent businessmen, and law enforcement officials. Some of these videos were leaked on social media platforms. While several of these men have been identified, charges have been raised against three people thus far, including Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed's brother, Nazim Abdul Sattar, former Nolhivaram MP Mohamed Nasheed, and police DED officer, Abdul Rahman Rafiu. On August 31, Alamgir was found guilty of three counts of homosexual relations and has been sentenced to seven months and six days in jail.

New developments in the case saw the police arrest a 45-year-old man, a 47-year-old man, and a 49-year-old man under a court order on August 6. The 47-year-old and 49-year-old were remanded in custody for 14 days, while the 45-year-old was remanded for five days.

New arrests were made in relation to the case on Friday, where three local men aged 44, 47, and 50 were arrested. The trio has been remanded in custody for ten days.

Although the police did not say whether the six men arrested over the last week were detained for having homosexual relations with Alamgir, AVAS has learned that the men had a homosexual relationship with Alamgir.
