The Directorate of Aviation Security Administration (DASA) of the Ministry of Defense has approved the use of machines installed at four airports operated by the Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL).
The new machines have been installed at HDh. Kulhudhuffushi Airport, Sh. Funadhoo Airport, Gh. Fuvahmulah Airport, and GDh. Maavarulu Airport.
RACL said with the approval received for the new machines, the X-ray machines used at all airports operated by RACL are now registered on DASA's Maldives Aviation Technology list.
The four x-ray machines installed at RACL's airports are of the RapiScan model. RACL is the authorized service provider of the brand. Therefore, problems encountered in the screening machines will be resolved quickly, said RACL.
The RACL said the move was in line with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's policy to strengthen the Maldives aviation sector under the direct supervision of Defense Minister Maryia Ahmed Didi.
