Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has arrived in Belgrade, Serbia, on an official visit from 4 – 6 November 2022.
Minister Shahid is visiting Serbia on the invitation of his counterpart, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dačić. During the visit, Minister Shahid is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Minister Dačić and explore avenues to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
The Foreign Ministry said Minister Shahid will also be concluding the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Maldives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. The agreement would facilitate periodic consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Maldives and Serbia and provide a framework to review and examine aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
