The current Chief Judge of the High Court, Hathif Hilmy, has requested to retire from his post.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC)'s Secretary General Izmira Shiham told AVAS that Judge Hathif on Sunday requested to honorably resign from the post of Chief Judge of the High Court. The JSC has not yet decided on the request and discussions are underway, she said.
Izmira also confirmed that the JSC is not investigating any disciplinary issues against Hathif.
Hathif was appointed as the Chief Justice of the High Court on November 26, 2020. He has proposed to retire after the JSC last month accepted the retirement of Judge Shuaib from the High Court.
