Bodies of fire victims sent back to their countries

The bodies of Nirufehige fire victims have been sent back to their countries.

On November 10, ten people died from burns and smoke inhalation in the most tragic fire incident in the Maldives in recent history. Nine bodies were recovered from the burning house in Maafannu, while another person died while being treated in a hospital. Three Indian women, five Indian men, a Bangladeshi man, and a woman were among the deceased.

The bodies of the Indian nationals were sent back to their country on November 17. The bodies of the two Bangladeshi nationals have also been sent home now.

One person, a Bangladeshi national, is still being treated at the hospital for burns. IGMH said he is now off ventilator support and has been shifted to the ward.
