State Minister for Education Ahmed Riyaz and Deputy Transport Minister Shimaz Ali have been transferred to other ministries.
Riyaz has been on suspension since May 29 this year for the alleged sexual harassment of two female employees working in the Education Ministry. Shimaz is accused of corruption, such as illegal vehicle registration and defamation of some ministry officials.
Presidential Spokesperson Miuwan Mohamed confirmed that Riyaz had been transferred to the post of Minister of State for Transport, while Shimaz has been transferred to the position of Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs. The changes were made last week.
