The Maldives' main airport, Velana International Airport (VIA) has set a new record for air traffic movement. The record was established on January 7 this year.
According to the Maldives Airports Company (MACL), a total of 856 air traffic movements were made at the airport last Saturday. These include 102 international movements, 114 domestic movements, 35 general aviation movements, and 605 seaplane movements.
A VIA runway movement record was most recently set on December 22 last year. One hundred four international flights, 104 domestic flights, and 20 general aviation flight movements were recorded that day.
