Seven people have been provided with temporary shelter following a fire at Evening Cafe in Male' City.
A fire broke out in Evening Cafe's kitchen on Wednesday evening. The incident was reported to MNDF around 6:12 pm.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) 's Emergency Management Director, Faroosha Ali, told AVAS that seven people had been provided with temporary shelter in guest houses following the fire. The people provided with shelter were people living in the building adjacent to Evening Cafe', she said. Although their residences were not seriously damaged, they were moved to shelters due to the presence of smoke, and as one of them was ill.
NDMA said 25 foreigners were living in the accommodation block of the cafe. Their employers have taken responsibility for them, she said.
