Supply boat runs aground Hulhimendhoo reef

A supply boat carrying goods ran aground L. Hulhimendhoo reef early Tuesday.

The MNDF received the reports at 2:07 am that the boat, 'Bonito Carrier,' had run aground the reef. MNDF Central Area Coast Guard Third Squadron troops began assisting the boat following the report. However, the vessel's owner is now in charge of refloat attempts, with MNDF active on the scene, according to MNDF.

The 85-foot boat was carrying goods from Male' to Herethere Resort in Addu City. Six crew members were on the boat. No one on board was injured in the incident.
