Planning Minister Mohamed Aslam has said there was no such thing as a special list of pre-approved Male' land and flat recipients.
At Wednesday's Parliament sitting, Maafannu North MP Imthiyaz Fahmy asked the minister whether the land was being issued from the Greater Male' Area according to a list kept by MPs loyal to the government, as being rumored by some MPs.
Responding to the question, Minister Aslam said there was no specific list of flat recipients. He said he was not aware that any MPs were making such statements. Any such rumors are untrue, he added.
The government last year announced that it would issue 5,000 land plots from the Male' area to Male' residents. However, in his presidential statement at the opening session of Parliament this year, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih announced that additional land would be allocated and issued from the Male' area.
