Tourist arrivals increase by 25 percent

The number of tourists visiting the Maldives so far this year has increased by 25.3 percent over the same period last year.

According to the Tourism Ministry, 375,283 tourists arrived in the Maldives as of March 4. This is an increase of 75,790 tourists compared to the 299,493 tourists that visited the Maldives during the same period last year.

According to statistics, 172,499 tourists visited the Maldives in January and 177,914 in February. The numbers show 24,870 tourists have visited the tourism-dependent archipelago thus far in March.

According to the Tourism Ministry, an average of 6,218 tourists visit the Maldives daily this month. Tourists spend an average of 7.9 days in the Maldives.

There are currently 1,220 tourism facilities in the Maldives. A total of 50,58 beds are available at 168 resorts, 886 guesthouses, 153 safaris, and 13 hotels.
