The Islamic Ministry has said the Eid prayer congregation will be held on open grounds, similar to other years.
Eid-ul-Fitr comes immediately after the last day of Ramadan, on the 10th month of the Islamic Calendar, Sha'wwaal. According to the government calendar, this year's Fitr Eid is on April 21.
The Islamic Ministry has confirmed the Eid prayer will take place at the Maafannu Stadium in Male', and at Hulhumale' Synthetic Track in Hulhumale'. The congregation will be held at the Football Stadium in Villimale'.
The Islamic Ministry has asked those attending the Eid prayers to complete their ablution before coming to the congregation and carry their own prayer mats. It is recommended that worshippers bring their own water bottles and a non-plastic shoe bag.
The ministry said that the Eid prayers would be held in mosques if the weather does not permit outdoor congregation.
