A teacher at HDh. Nolhivaram School has been arrested with drugs.
Sources who spoke from Nolhivaram said Naaiz Ibrahim, an Islam teacher at the island's school, was arrested early yesterday and that drugs were found on him at the time of the arrest.
"It has always been suspected that Naaiz is involved in drug trafficking. However, this is the first time he has been arrested for such a thing," an island resident said.
A video of Naiz being arrested has been circulating on social media.
Police could not be reached for comment on the arrest.
