A man has died after being hit by the propeller of a safari boat.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening as a safari attempted to berth at R. Inguraidhoo Harbour. The deceased has been identified as former Vice-President of Rasgetheemu Council, Mohamed Ibrahim, who worked as a crew member on the safari.

A person who spoke from Inguraidhoo said a rope entangled in the safari's turbine as it approached the island.
