Urbanco showcases opportunities at Urban Isle at conference in Montenegro

Opportunities at Hulhumale's Urban Isle took center stage at the Bridging Tourism Destinations Conference, an event held in Budva, Montenegro, from the 11th to the 12th of this month.

The conference, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism of Montenegro and the Ministry of Tourism of the Maldives, provided a platform for showcasing the immense potential of the Urban Isle development.

At the conference, Urbanco, the state-owned housing company, was represented by the corporation's Chief Hospitality Officer, Ibrahim Inaaz. In his presentation, Inaaz highlighted the various advantages and opportunities offered by the Urban Isle, located in the northernmost part of Hulhumale'. The integration of Urban Isle with Hulhumale', the primary economic hub of the Maldives, is expected to significantly boost tourism in the area.

Covering approximately 23 hectares, Urban Isle boasts a diverse range of accommodation options catering to different types of tourists. These include luxury villas, serviced apartments, city hotels, midscale and upscale hotels, guest houses, branded retail establishments, and upscale restaurants for leisure tourists, short-term or transit tourists, business tourists, and long-term stayers such as digital nomads.

Urbanco emphasized that the incorporation of these amenities positions Urban Isle as an exceptional investment opportunity for both local and foreign businesses. The island's strategic connectivity to Velana International Airport, Hulhumale', Male', and the ongoing infrastructure development at Urban Isle offer substantial benefits to potential investors.

Urbanco is also focused on ensuring the sustainability of the project through the installation of a smart and environmentally friendly utility network with an open-access system. Additionally, the company has implemented flexible submission options for lease proposals, joint ventures, and other collaboration models to accommodate the preferences of interested investors.
