Practical work of Hithadhoo Islamic Center kicks off

The practical work of Hithadhoo, Addu City's Islamic Center, has kicked off.

The project was awarded to Fedo Pvt Ltd on March 24, to be completed within 450 days.

The project was officially launched on Wednesday by Vice President Faisal Naseem and Islamic Minister Dr. Ahmed Zahir.

During the ceremony, the Vice President emphasized the administration’s commitment to addressing religious issues, especially among young people. He stated that in recent years, the administration has implemented numerous religious awareness programs, with a particular focus on atolls. These programs include Quran recitation competitions, Ihya forums, religious counseling, and imam training, all of which have been conducted at an unprecedented level.

The two-story Islamic Center will feature a prayer hall with a capacity of 1,500 people, a multipurpose hall that can accommodate 450 people, four classrooms, two seminar rooms, an administrative office, and a library.
