The government has commenced verifying the living conditions of those who qualified for the flats allocated from Male' City area under the government's housing policy.
The list of flat recipients under the 'Gedhoruveriyaa' scheme was released on the 8th of this month, with the decision to provide flats to all qualified individuals.
A senior government official said the living conditions of the eligible people are being verified to ensure the accuracy of the information provided on their applications. The official said the flat recipients are being contacted to verify their living situations.
A total of 14,489 applications were submitted for 4,000 flats being leased under the scheme consisting of 2,800 three-bedroom flats of 900 sqft and 1,200 two-bedroom flats of 650 sqft.
