The Australian Ambassador to the Maldives, David Jessup, has praised President-Elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's "pro-Maldives" foreign policy during a courtesy call.
During the meeting, Dr. Muizzu said he hoped to strengthen relations between the Maldives and Australia during his presidency. He also recognized the close ties between the two countries in various fields and thanked Australia for its assistance in building the Maldives' human resources through education opportunities for Maldivian students.
The Australian Ambassador assured their full support and cooperation in enhancing bilateral relations and assisting in various areas of the MAldives' development.
