Special invitations for specific foreign individuals not issued: Transitional Spokesperson

Invitations have been extended to neighboring countries and friendly nations to attend the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

President-elect's Office Spokesperson Mohamed Firzul Abdulla Khaleel, said invitations have been sent to countries and international organizations. He said invitations were sent for a representative of the respective country or organization to attend the ceremony, with the choice of who will attend the swearing-in ceremony left to the respective nation or association. Special invitations for specific foreign individuals have not been issued, he added.

“As mentioned on several occasions, all neighboring countries and many countries with close ties to the Maldives have been invited to the ceremony,” Firzul said.

The Maldivian National Defense Force's SIFCO has been allocated MVR 22 million to organize the swearing-in ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Republic Square on the evening of November 17.
