Pres Dr. Muizzu expresses confidence in securing supermajority in Parliamentary elections

The People’s National Congress (PNC) will win a supermajority in the upcoming parliamentary election, President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has said.

At a ceremony held at Male' SeaTracs Building on Wednesday night to open the ruling Peoples' National Congress (PNC)'s new office, President Dr. Muizzu thanked the citizens of the Maldives for their unwavering support in the recent presidential election. He expressed his confidence in securing a super-majority for the PNC in the upcoming parliamentary election.

Previously sharing office space with the main party in the PPM-PNC coalition, the PPM, at H. Hurafaa in Male' City, the PNC office had to relocate following former President Abdulla Yameen's departure from the coalition after internal disagreements. Initially, the PNC office found a temporary home in the Dhon Manik Sky View building before settling in its current location at the SeaTracs Building.

The PNC has launched efforts to increase its membership to 40,000 before the end of this year.
