The PPM-PNC primary for the upcoming parliamentary election has been rescheduled to January 20, 2024.
The ruling PPM-PNC first scheduled their primary for January 20, 2024. However, on December 7, the primary was pre-poned to December 23.
In an official statement released on Friday, the PPM-PNC announced reverting to the original January 20 date. The decision to postpone was made in response to requests from numerous candidates and ordinary members, as the December date coincided with the school holidays, during which many individuals are expected to travel for various reasons, such as holidays and Umrah.
More than 300 candidates have submitted their nomination forms for the PPM-PNC parliamentary primary. The names of the candidates contesting the primary will be announced in the upcoming week after the eligibility of the candidates is confirmed. The list of voters and the time of polling will also be announced.
