The second phase of the Hulhumale' Phase III reclamation has commenced.
The Phase III reclamation is implemented in three phases of which the first phase has already been completed. Ten hectares of land were dredged in the first phase. The second phase will dredge 29 hectares of land and an additional 24 hectares of land will be dredged under the third phase.
Urbanco's Managing Director Fazul Rasheed said the dredging work was briefly halted upon the completion of the first phase. However, he assured that the project would continue as planned. Fazul emphasized that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's commitment to allocate land for those eligible under the previous government's housing initiatives would be honored.
Urbanco will be establishing several services and facilities in Hulhumale' Phase III for the convenience of the people. as the area undergoes development.
Hulhumale Phase III land reclamation project is part of the various development projects being implemented aimed at addressing challenges in the Male' City area. The government is confident that the project will alleviate the challenges of many city residents grappling with a prolonged housing crisis in the Greater Male Area.
