Nahla to contest for Hulhumale South seat

Former Transport and Jumhooree Party leader Qasim Ibrahim's wife, Aishath Nahla has decided to contest the Hulhumale South Constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election.

In a social media post, Nahla expressed her hopes for the support of constituents.

“I hope all constituents will support me and give their vote,” Nahla wrote.

According to Nahla, she wishes to represent the people of Hulhumale South to make their voices heard and find solutions for the challenges they face through the Parliament.

Nahla began participating in political activities following her husband's arrest during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen. She played a prominent role in the 2018 presidential election campaign and served as the Transport Minister for five years in the last government. Nahla was elected JP's deputy leader at the party's national conference last year.
