Plans to establish housing scheme for Parliament employees

Parliament Speaker Mohamed Aslam has revealed plans to establish a housing scheme tailored for Parliament employees.

Speaking at a ceremony held to appreciate the services of parliamentary employees on Friday night, Aslam acknowledged employee concerns regarding the absence of housing to parliament employees compared to other government agencies. He emphasized the need for the Parliament to take direct responsibility for addressing this issue.

“I believe it should be arranged by the Parliament itself-- not by a separate government agency, not by the government,” Aslam said.

Aslam added that the parliament should come up with a plan to provide housing for its employees. He said he would seek the consultation of the employees and the Secretary-General on the matter.
