HDC MD vows to revoke unfairly allocated land

Housing Development Corporation (HDC)'s Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed has said that land unfairly allocated by the previous government will be revoked.

Speaking at a ceremony held at V. Fulidhoo on Wednesday attended by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, MD Fazul reiterated claims that approximately 50 plots of land were unjustly allocated from Hulhumale' by the previous government.

"We are currently in the process of reclaiming these properties. It's important to highlight that around 50 plots of land in Hulhumale' are being misused,," Fazul said.

Fazul said in addition to the plots in Hulhumale', 35 plots on the industrial island Thilafushi have also been allocated unfairly under the guise of temporary use. According to Fazul, this has resulted in a substantial revenue loss for HDC.
