Maldives welcomes over 879,000 tourists

Over 879,000 tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year, statistics have shown.

According to the Tourism Ministry, a total of 879,885 tourists arrived in the Maldives as of Monday, marking a 10.8 percent increase from the 794,061 tourists recorded during the same period last year.

China emerged as the leading source of tourists, contributing 98,908 visitors, which accounts for 11.2 percent of the total arrivals. Russia follows closely with 88,585 tourists, making up 10.1 percent of the total. Italy ranks next with 74,805 visitors, followed by Germany with 71,473, and India with 51,945 arrivals.
