Public Service Media (PSM) has terminated Ahmed Haneef, the head of its finance department. Haneef's dismissal follows a period of suspension as the company investigated a case against him.
AVAS has learned that Haneef was on leave when he was fired. Haneef was reportedly fired for his refusal to release outstanding payments to companies that performed work for PSM during former President Abdullah Yameen's administration. Haneef had withheld the payments due to missing required documents and ongoing court cases related to some of the claims, sources suggest.
Haneef, who holds a degree in Accounting and Finance, has been working for PSM since 2006.
