President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu met with Indian President Droupada Murmu today.
The meeting took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the importance of working together for the development and prosperity of both nations.
President Murmu noted that President Dr Muizzu's presence at the swearing-in ceremony on such short notice demonstrates the confidence both countries enjoy in their bilateral ties. She also congratulated him on securing a super majority in the parliamentary election and highlighted the Indian Government's "Neighbourhood First Policy," expressing eagerness to contribute to development assistance for the Maldives.
President Dr Muizzu thanked President Murmu for the hospitality and expressed gratitude for India's continuous assistance to the Maldives. He committed to preserving the close and historic ties with India, and conveyed that he looks forward to further strengthening existing relations between the two countries.
Following the meeting, President Dr Muizzu signed the guest book at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
