President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has concluded his official visit to India and arrived back in the Maldives.
The President traveled to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers of the Indian government.
During the visit, President Dr. Muizzu attended a banquet hosted by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, in honor of the visiting dignitaries. The two Presidents also had a meeting in which they discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Maldives and India. Additionally, the External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar called on the President.
President Dr. Muizzu was accompanied by a high-level government delegation. This marks his first visit to India since the assumption of office on November 17, 2023.
