FENAKA aims to solve Addu City's power issues within two years

FENAKA Corporation has stated that it will take approximately two years to implement a permanent solution to the power problems in Addu City.

Speaking at a press conference held Thursday, FENAKA's Managing Director Muaz Mohamed Rasheed acknowledged significant challenges in providing services to large islands. Muaz noted that some areas of Addu City, particularly the Hithadhoo area, continue to experience frequent power outages.

Muaz revealed that DENAKA is working with the Chinese company, DEC, to address these issues and find a permanent solution.

“The project will be completed within the next two years and will provide a permanent solution to the electricity problem in Addu City,” Muaz said.

Currently, there are about 18 generators installed in Addu City to supply electricity. However, some of these generators are not functioning optimally due to a lack of maintenance. FENAKA is actively working to improve the condition of these generators and replace worn generators.
