The Housing Ministry has handed over 647 plots of land from Hulhumale to recipients under the previous government's Binveriyaa Scheme.
According to the Housing Ministery, 10 plots under the scheme were handed over to their owners on Sunday, with another 13 handed over the previous Thursday.
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's government allocated more than 9,000 plots of land under the Binveriyaa Scheme, from Hulhumae';, Gulhifalhu and Giraavarufalhu. Of this, 1,408 plots were allocated from Hulhumale. A total of 761 plots from Hulhumale are yet to be handed over to their recipients.
Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar has previously stated that the government is working towards handing over all plots from Hulhumale Phase III by November this year.
