Russia contributes 11 percent of total tourist arrivals

More than 200,000 tourists from Russia have visited the Maldives so far this year.

Russia is currently the second-largest source market for Maldivian tourism, trailing after China. According to the Tourism Ministry, as of November 23, 201,400 tourists from Russia have visited the Maldives, making up 11.2 percent of the 1.79 million total tourists during this period.

Thus far this year, the Maldives has seen a 9.2% increase in total tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year. There are currently 1,242 tourism facilities catering to tourists in the Maldives, including 171 resorts, 902 guesthouses, 155 safaris, and 14 hotels.
