FENAKA Corporation has stated that water systems were newly installed in 21 islands for the first time, and sewerage systems in four islands over the last year.
In 2024, FENAKA Corporation also provided water connection to 360 housing units in newly populated areas in some islands. Additionally, billing was commenced in 22 islands where billing had not been implemented, and water costs were harmonized across all islands, FENAKA said.
While FENAKA provides water and sewerage services in 107 islands in the atolls, sewerage services were provided to residents in 92 islands without charging any fees. FENAKA said although the company faces significant financial setbacks, the corporation prioritizes the uninterrupted provision of services to customers.
