Maldives Finance Forum begins in Kurumba Maldives

The Maldives Finance Forum, organized by the Pension Office, has begun this morning in Kurumba Maldives. Key players in the financial sector of the country are taking part in the Forum.

Speaking in the opening address, Pension Office Chairperson, Athifa Ali said the pension fund was a vital product in the economy and that they were designing more investment products to increase investments from the pension funds. .

This is the fifth session of the Finance Forum. Allied Insurance is the main sponsor of the Forum. This year's Forum centers on the theme of Modernizing and Reforming the financial sector.

The Pension Fund currently stands at MVR 5.1 billion. Statistics show that 1767 participating bodies are actively taking part in the Fund, including private businesses and state owned companies and corporations. Over 82000 individuals actively contribute to the Fund.
