National Disaster Management Center (NDMC) has said they have completed their assessment of Th. Thimarafushi, one of the hardest hit islands in last week's rains. Under the assessment, the Center had reviewed around 70 homes in the island.
Defense Minister Adam Shareef Umar said the assessment was complete and they will soon begin assessing the rest of the islands. Minister said the rest of the assessments will be carried out in collaboration with the relevant government agencies.
In addition to Th. Thimarafushi, the islands of Hirilandhoo, Veymandoo, Kimbidhoo of the Atoll were also hit with heavy rains. Additionally, heavy rains were experienced in M. Muli, Ga. Vilingili, AA. Ukulhas, L. Kunahandhoo, L. Funadhoo, L. Gan, S. Feydhoo, S. Hithadhoo, Dh. Meedhoo, Dh. Kudahuvadhoo and AA. Bodufulhadhoo.
