First Lady Madam Fathmath's name was submitted as a witness, to testify that President Yaameen's son had used a different launch to travel to Male' on the day of the bombing, after going to the airport to receive the President.

Former Vice president Adeeb's legal team had presented a number of evidence to prove 14 allegations that had been made against him by the state. The defence presented their case to prove that Adeeb had used the launch to travel to Aarashu, and that his security team had inspected the launch because security had been increased after threats were made to assassinate the Vice President in a youtube video that showed men in masks. Furthermore, the defence also presented a lengthy case to prove that Adeeb had no time or way to plant an IED in the launch. The defence also presented an argument saying that the explosion in the launch was not because of an IED, and that the samples taken from the Launch were not from an explosive. Furthermore, the defence intends to prove that there was no maintenance work done on the launch for two years and that former President Maumoon had used the launch after Adeeb.

The defence also intends to prove that a crew had gotten on the launch to work on the engines because it was faulty. Furthermore, the defence also argued that President Yaameen had stated that Adeeb had to be removed from the government, and that President Yaameen's son had chosen to take a different launch on the day of the explosion after he went to receive his parents. The defence is also attempting to prove that no weapons had been missing up until Adeeb was arrested and that the weapons went missing only after his arrest. The defence also argued that a pistol had been planted in Adeeb's house to frame him, and witness names were submitted to prove this argument.
