Maldives has expressed an interest to buy the weapons which the MNDF need from Pakistan.
Pakistan's "The Nation" reported that Defence Minister Adam Shareef visited Pakistan's biggest weapons manufacturing company, and had expressed his interest to buy weapons needed for MNDF from Pakistan. Pakistan's biggest weapons manufacturer is Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF). This factory reportedly sells weapons to 30 countries.
The Nation reported that POF has also expressed an interest to sell weapons to Maldives, and has guaranteed that they would sell weapons to Maldives if asked. POF manufactures strong explosives and rocket arms.
