228 A Level Top Achievers awarded

The 228 students in the top 10 for the A Level examinations for 2015 was awarded last night.

A total of 228 students from 20 schools in the country were in the top 10. Out of this 142 students were female and 86 were male. The top 10 students were given the prizes and scholarships by President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom.

The 16 students who had received subject prizes globally were also awarded last night. Out of that 12 students had achieved 100 percent pass rates in accounting. Nine students who had won the High Achievers Award from Edexcel for scoring A star passes in over three subjects were also awarded.

Fifty three schools taught A Level syllabi last year, with 2120 students sitting for exams from 48 centers. Out of this 1268 students were female and 852 were male.
