Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has revealed they will be constructing a guesthouse in Hithadhoo. The property will be a 100 - 200 bed property.
MPL CEO Mohamed Junaid said the guesthouse will be created with the start of bus services in Addu, adding this was a key request of the President. MPL has brought in 13 buses to begin bus services in Addu and Fuvahmulah.
"President Yameen wants to increase job opportunities for Addu citizens. Opening a guesthouse is a way of boosting employment for the area," Junaid said. A date for the start of the project is yet to be announced.
"President wishes to improve public transportation in Addu and Fuvahmulah. The transportation system is run at a loss presently. But the operation of a guesthouse will offset these losses and increase employment," Junaid said.
