- Faris dismissed over failure to abide by whip line
- Case submitted by Nihan
- Nadhira and Zaid removed as well
PPM's Ethics Committee had voted to dismiss Dhiggaru Constituency MP Faris from PPM.
Vilimale' MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik had submitted the case for review. The Committee today voted to remove Faris, Aminath Nadhira and Zaid Ameen form the Party as well.
Committee Chair Ali Waheed today said the dismissals were voted in by the unanimous vote of the three member Committee and that none of the individuals had responded to the summons. Nadira and Zaid were removed for criticizing the Government as a party member.
The review had been started in spite of the order issued by PPM President and MP Faris' father Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom.
