Cracks have formed on the recently laid marble floors outside of Islamic Center. The marble floors were completed on the first day of Ramadan, as part of the extension of the Islamic Center to accommodate around 20000 persons at the same time.
The Center was renovated and expanded with the US$ 1.14 million grant given by the Chinese Government. The cracks appeared just one month following the renovation of the area. Criticism has floated on social media over this.
Housing Ministry is yet to issue a statement over the issue.
Islamic Ministry had initially planned to erect large umbrellas modeled after the ones in the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, which now will be erected next year. A total of 5000 square meters was inlaid with marble.
